The first step is to install the add-in. You can download the plugin from the following link: If for some reason the link is broken, just send me an, and I’ll send you the add-in file. Once downloaded run the installer, and you are ready to go.

The add-in will appear as a separate toolbar, as shown below: Click the “Insert Stock Quotes” button. I also have this problem. The website now has a 'pop-up' ad on it that must be closed before accessing the rest of the site-looks exactly like what the spreadsheet is downloading if you look at the 'preview' pane for the query (when setting up the query). I suspect this may be the problem, the query can't get pat the popup. I don't know how to bypass the popup to get to the main content, there doesn't appear to be a different link for the popup, it's all the same page. Looking for a different solution as Microsoft is unlikely to fix this.

I've read online something about a Bing BETA 'app' that may be replacing this. Raju, The stock quotes are part of the standard MSN Money add-in feature in excel. You go to Data Add - A window pops up with Existing Connections.

Download New Release Crypter Source This is the second version of this tool, and it has great improvements over the first version. Namely that it can handle hacks that have. Tomato4cc / Crypter. Select MSN MoneyCentralInvestor Currency Rates (as an example) and then click on Open. Close the window Workbook Connections Then again in Data click on Existing Connections You will see that connections in this workbook are MSNMoney Central Investor Currency Rates - select it and click Open, a window will pop up indicating where do we want to put the worksheet. Now instead of getting the excel table what you get is a bunch of info like some sort of pop-up see below. My research says it was a deliberate action by MS for some unknown reason. Perhaps to get more people to look at MS Money, but more than a little irritating.

Given all the negative responses I can only hope they restore the function asap. Anyway there is a somewhat cumbersome workaround using Yahoo! Finance with the following URL: You can then set up a new Web Query using this, but you also get a slew of additional info but you can just link the data you want to your stock sheet. Or more cumbersome, just copy the data you want from the Yahoo web site and paste to a separate sheet (which you can link). Raju, here is how I am getting the stock quotes into Excel 2007: From the Ribbon: Data, Connections Select MSN Money Central Investor Stock Quotes, ADD Select MSN Money Central Investor Stock Quotes, OPEN, PROPERTIES Under the Definition tab, here is what I get: (Edit Query) Address: this shows a preview of the pop-up ad currently on the website.

CANCEL Under Parameters: Get Value from following cell (I am selecting a column of symbols) OK, OK, CLOSE Using these setting results in the pop-up data showing up, not the stock data.
